Argentina - But Not At The End?

Probably not, for although this 1978 Porta proposal for the Rio Turbio railway now will not see the light of day, the idea of providing completely new and more powerful steam power for the Patagonian 750mm gauge is not dead. What is illustrated would have been a four-cylinder compound articulated 2-12-12-0 capable of developing 4000 hp, an astonishing figure for such a narrow gauge.
