"Three cylinders, ye say? Man, but we managed fine wi' twa on the NBR".
December 1928, and only a day or so after completion by the North British
Locomotive Company in Glasgow, LNER Class B17 No. 2801 Holkham is
being run-in prior to despatch south to London. Later LNER 1601 and BR
61601, it survived until January 1958.
