Arranging the Exhibits

Robin Barnes - Railway Art and History

Robin Barnes, Railway Art and History
Passing a demonstration sugar refinery from Belgium, the little saddle-tank Leeds propels the Ramsbottom 'Single' No.531 Lady of the Lake into position at the 1862 International Exhibition in South Kensington. Leeds, Manning Wardle 60/1862, was itself shown, but pressed into service beforehand to assist with bringing in materials and arranging exhibits. Afterwards, it went to work for the Carlton Iron Co Ltd of Stillington, Durham, but its ultimate fate is unrecorded.
