Until as late as 1973 it would have been possible on a daily basis to come across this
pleasant little scene at Biberau, in the then German Democratic Republic (DDR), on the
metre gauge line connecting Eisfeld and Schonbrunn. The locomotive is standard 2-10-2T
99.237, built by VEB Lokomotivbau Karl Marx, Babelsberg, in 1955 Later DR 99.7237-3 and
after German reunification DB 099.147-1, it can today be found on the now privatised Nordhausen
- Wernigerode section. Note at left another standard production, a Peoples' Pram.
